The Magic Trip: Disney World (Animal Kingdom and Hollywood Studios)

I remember when Animal Kingdom first opened (I know I’m aging myself here).  Is that nuts?

I hate to say it, but it’s probably my least favorite of the parks.  Don’t get me wrong, there are some great attractions, but Robby and I usually go through it in a couple of hours and then head out.

We started off with the Kilimanjaro Rapids and proceeded to get SOAKED.  (see evidence below)

We had to ride through the Safari of course!

Spot the Rhino, if you can!

Mr. Giraffe refused to have his picture taken, at first.

But I managed to coax him to pose.

We also rode this bad boy:

Before admiring the Tree of Life on our way out 🙂

On to Hollywood Studios!

Now, before you ask, NO, I did not ride the Tower of Terror.  I am not a straight drop kind of gal.  However, I did ride this wonderful attraction:

And of course the back lot tour!

P1000737

Where I relived my middle school years ogling over the Titanic display…I’ll never let go, Leo.  I’ll never let go.

P1000744

We passed the Writer’s Stop and Robby was thinking of some ideas for new projects.

P1000730

Hollywood studios went a little crazy with Frozen.  Now, unless you’ve been living under a rock, that’s that little Disney movie with the song “Let It Go” that everybody and their mother has been singing.  Like I was saying, Hollywood Studios went a little Frozen crazy and transformed part of the park into a winter wonderland.

The little supply hut from the movie was the first thing to greet you.

Followed by an ice skating rink and station where you could play with real snow!

They also had themed drinks and treats like this fellow.

P1000720

And this princess.

P1000721

Robby got right into character with his Olaf smile.

P1000722

While I tried to give my best Elsa smirk, but think I fell short.

P1000725

We enjoyed our treats while watching the skaters fall move gracefully across the ice.

After our Frozen treats we headed out to catch the Frozen parade, oh wait excuse me procession. Queen Elsa and Princess Anna were visiting the land of Hollywood from their neighboring Kingdom of Arendelle.

P1000757

They even brought Kristoff along.

P1000770

They went all out to welcome them.  Notice how it’s snowing?
