Street Fair

I love the fall.  It’s probably my second favorite season next to spring.  There are pumpkins, apples, scarves, boots, cozying up with a nice book and a cup of coffee, cocooned in a nice warm sweater–see? Hands down, my second favorite season.

Another awesome thing about Fall are Street Fairs.  Granted they have these in the Spring as well, but there’s something about going to them in the fall that I love, especially if it’s a nice, crisp day which is exactly the type of weather I had when I went to the Nyack Street Fair.

The second you enter the mêlée, you’re assaulted with delicious smells, textures, and people all trying to sell you their wares.

They even had a section with bouncy castles and rides.

Is it bad that I totally wanted to go on these bumper things?

Like really badly.

I always feel, the whole point of Street Fairs is to wander and just take everything in.

There were stalls selling clothes, jewelry, books, home goods, services, and everything else under the sun (quite literally!).  However, I came across this “stall” selling their wares from a truck and knew I had to check it out!

They had some fun jewelry and quirky clothes all laid out inside.  I [barely] resisted buying one of these bracelets.

I ended up finding a ring that I LOVED a few stalls down by Moonchild.  Isn’t it pretty?

I always try to buy something original at street fairs to support small businesses.  Usually their items are well made, original, and just plain fun!

If you have the chance this Fall, go check out some street fairs then tell me all about it! I promise you, you’ll have a great day out!
