The BEA 2015 Recap – Day 2

After the craziness of running around on Wednesday, I was looking forward to a little more of a calming experience for Day 2, even if it was an earlier and longer day.

The main thing on the agenda this morning was grabbing Passenger by Alexandra Bracken.  I knew it was going to be ::crazy:: <–that’s in my sing song voice, so I was heading there first thing.  Meanwhile, the bro was headed to the James Dashner signing which was also going to be ::crazy::  Unfortunately for him, he didn’t find out until practically a foot from James, that he wasn’t signing his new book, The Game of Lives, but the first two books in the Maze Runner Series.  At that point he decided to just stay, but he was not happy after waiting that long only to learn they’re giving books he already has.  Meanwhile, on the Alexandra Bracken line, I was going a little nuts because it was taking FOREVER.

I’m not exaggerating or being melodramatic….Ok, maybe a little bit, but it was really taking a while!

Alexandra was really interacting with everybody, which is usually awesome-sauce at your own signing, but when you’ve got like ten other authors you’re trying to get to, it makes things tough.  I finally got up and met her and she was fantastic!  I can’t wait to read it!

After that the bro and I kind of divided and conquered (the only way to survive BEA) and managed to get some awesome Galleys including, Court of Fives (which I have been wanting for forever), Blood Passage, and Firewalker.  We had been trying to grab Marvels since Wednesday, but it was proving impossible! Every time they dropped it, it’d be gone.  We were determined to grab it by the end of BEA, mark my words!

Robby was able to meet Kunal Nayyar from the Big Bang Theory, which was pretty awesome! He was only signing samplers, but still a nice guy.  Meanwhile, I knew I had to get on line for the Harlequinn Teen signing at 1pm because that was going to be a nightmare.  I made that mistake last year and I knew I wasn’t going to repeat it.  I started lining up at around 11:30 and I was already number 28 on line.  The main takes from that signing that I had been gunning for were Legacy of Kings by Eleanor Herman and Never Always Sometimes by Adi Alsaid.  They had 3 other authors during that signing (including Jennifer Armentrout!), but those were the two I wanted the most.  Luckily, I was successful!

Unfortunately for the bro, he was waiting on the Libba Bray line for Lair of Dreams.  According to him, it was the most disorganized, horrible experience.  They kept changing the starting point and people kept cutting in.  Not fun.  He was there waiting with Britt and she said he kept them all entertained with his antics haha!

After those crazy signings we managed to grab a few others and call it a day!

Here’s my haul from Day 2:

Some of my favorites from Day 2 include Passenger, Court of Fives, Lair of Dreams, Legacy of Kings, Last Song Before Night, and Blood Passage.

Can’t forget my Litograph tattoo! Any guesses with this one*?

Also in case you were wondering, here are the walking results from Day 2:

A little less than the day before, although I wasn’t RUNNING FOR DEAR LIFE to get a golden ticket, so that’s understandable.

Overall, Day 2 was awesome sauce! Stay tuned for my last day at BEA!
