Continuing our adventures, I awoke after a horrible night of sickness feeling perfectly fine. We decided to take it a bit easier that day to play it safe and see how I felt later on that evening.
We walked over to the Italian district. That’s one thing we loved about Boston–it’s such a great walking city. Everything is so near one another. Once we parked the car the day we arrived, we didn’t touch it again until the day we left.
We debated buying this shirt, but opted for a picture instead.
We stumbled upon a cute little coffee shop called The Thinking Cup. They offered almond milk so I ordered a hazelnut latte with almond milk. Meesh ordered a latte with almond milk and a lemon poppy scone which I might have stolen a bite or two from.
My drink even matched my shirt!
Continuing our easy going day theme, we decided to stop and get manicures. A well deserved luxury after a less than stellar evening.
All that walking made us really thirsty so we decided to head over to Harpoon Brewery. So many people told us to check it out so we knew we’d have to hit it up eventually. On our way, we admired the warf and tried to take normal pictures with all the wind. You can’t tell from the photos but it was windy!
We arrived at Harpoons ready to chill out and relax some more 🙂 I abstained from drinking anything, but Meesh got a sampler and we both got Pretzels (which Harpoon is known for) with a variety of dipping sauces. They were delish!
We walked back to our hotel and since I was feeling exponentially better, we decided to have our New Years Eve that evening. We made reservations at Bricco for some GOOD eatin’. I had gotten the Pork (the picture truly doesn’t do it justice) while Meesh had the pappardelle with wild boar. SO GOOD. It literally melted in my mouth.
Afterwards, we headed out for some drinks at Carrie Nation. It’s a bar in the style of a speak easy club with lush, red velvet wallpaper, a variety of cocktails and it’s own backroom filled with pool tables and comfy lounge chairs. We quickly made friends with Prince, the bouncer, and somehow promised him a tour of NY if he ever visits by the end of the night. Obviously, a good time was had by all and it more than made up for a night sick in bed!
