The BEA 2015 Recap – Day 3

And we’ve come to the final day and final recap post of BEA 2015 🙁 I know, I know.  You’re all crying your eyes out as I am, BUT there’s always next year! So before we get into any more hysterics, I better go through my third day.

So originally, Friday was going to be the worst day of them all.  Apparently all the publishers decided to schedule all the authors I wanted at the same time that afternoon to sign their books.  Now, as a New Yorker, I’m pretty fast, but even I can’t be in 5 places at once! Luckily, the past two days I managed to grab some galleys which alleviated a majority of those signings so believe it or not, Friday turned out to be the lightest day in terms of crazy rushing! Yay for Galleys!

Spacey-Yay[1]

So there were some ticked authors that my friends and I wanted to get so we woke up at an UNGODLY hour to get into the city on time.  In fact, I don’t think I’ve ever left so early.  The GW bridge was a joke and we breezed right over! We even got there before Nikki, Octavia, and Christina! WAT?! I know.  Here’s a whole bunch of us waiting to get in that morning 🙂

We got our tickets and then began to wait until the doors opened.  My one mission that day was the Leigh Bardugo signing of Six of Crows.  It didn’t start until 10:30 but I was determined to be one of the first people to line up for it because HELLO, you know it was going to be cray cray.  While we were waiting on line we heard (in very hushed, hushed whispers) that there was going to be a drop of Soundless first thing that morning.  WHAT?! That would alleviate everything.  So my brother headed straight to that while I ran to get online for Leigh Bardugo.  Thank goodness I did! I was only number 20-something or so online, but they had so many front of the line reader passes go ahead of the line that not far after me, people weren’t guaranteed books, even though they had been waiting for hours.  Ugh.  You KNOW it’s going to be crazy publishers! Next time, please plan accordingly.  Luckily I was able to snag a copy!  Here is the amazing Leigh signing my copy!

While I was on the ungodly long Leigh Bardugo line, Nikki and Katie were amazing human beings and got me a copy of A Whole New World!!

After I was done with the Six of Crows line and the book was in my hands…

…I hit up some other lines including the Jennifer Armentrout signing of Scorched.

I owe Katie for these pictures since my phone ran out of storage space! She’s a life-saver!

Last line of the day was for Meg Cabot’s Royal Wedding.  She was super nice! Can’t wait to check it out 🙂

Robby was FINALLY able to get a copy of Marvels.  I mean we were determined at that point.  He also met Mindy Kaling who was super nice and Nathan Lane.  He was so mad because he ALMOST snuck in to the Bernadette Peters line, but walked off it like an idiot.  He’s still kicking himself over it.

Alas, the day was coming to a close and I managed to get some awesome books! Some of the highlights included SIX OF CROWSSoundless, The Accident Season, The Scorpion Rules (which is one of my giveaway books!), Beastly Bones, and The Rest of Us Just Live Here.

Here’s the full haul from Day 3:

Also my last tattoo from Litograph 🙁  Any guesses with this one?*  I know it’s not much to go on, but my friend Jess got it right away!

We can’t forget our walking summary!

The least steps out of all the days.  Probably because I wasn’t rushing around as much since I had gotten a lot of galleys the previous two days!

I was so upset having to say goodbye to everyone! That’s the only bad part about BEA.  You finally get to meet and see so many authors, bloggers, and friends that you’ve wanted to for a long time, but then you have to say goodbye.  That’s why you always look forward to the following year! Next year’s will be in Chicago and I CANNOT WAIT! As long as we’re not in a show, the bro and I plan on driving out.  We want to stop in Marblehead, Ohio on the way since that’s where Jack and Loretta Clemens are from.  I mean how could we not?!

I had an absolute blast this year and can’t wait to see everybody again next year!!

  1. That seems like quite a haul! I was one of the people that waited houra and got cut from the Six of Crows line *sigh* but even though that was a major bummer (I missed a lot of signings due to doing that line) Friday ended up being the best BEA day. Loved the recap!
