A Girls Day in Montclair

Sometimes you just need a girls day.

A day to just relax, eat, shop and do nothing but talk.  I’m so lucky I have two girlfriends who I can do that with.  I know I can call them anytime–day or night–and tell them anything.

Julie (aka Jules), Michele (aka Meesh) and I all went to college together.  (Oh the fun times!) One fact I learned after you graduate is it’s hard to stay in touch with a lot of your friends.  You move away, lose touch, join the circus…

Luckily with these two those things are not an issue. We try to get to get together every month or so to catch up on our lives.

We decided to meet up in Montclair for some good food, shopping, and chit chat.

apparently there was a street fair that day

We had lunch at Petit Paris. Cause ya know, the French have pretty good food.  Julie had a yummy soy Cappucino.

Check out that bling! She was the first of us to get married.  Old married lady, this one.  I can see the wrinkles already.

I enjoyed a yummy salad with egg and avocado. Zomg avocado, how I love thee.

We walked around a bit and stumbled across an antique store where Jules and I ogled over this dresser.

All that ogling made us thirsty so we grabbed some fresh smoothies/juice.

Whew! All reenergized for some more shopping! Of course we had to stop in Anthropologie.  I drooled over all their home goods and loved the colors of these glasses.

I resisted (barely) in buying anything.

We ended our day with our traditional selfie.  Every time we get together we take a three person selfie.  We keep saying one of these days we need to take all the selfies and make a collage.

I told Meesh to wait until we’re 80.  At that point we could publish them as book.

It’d be a best seller.
